Bergen County Annual Martin Luther King Birthday Event

This Monday, January 18, the Annual Martin Luther King Birthday Celebration
will take place at the Temple Emeth, 1666 Windsor road in Teaneck at 6:30
pm.  The theme this year is "Affirming the 'Black Lives Matter' Movement in
the spirit of Dr. King's work to achieve Justice and Equality for All"

Our Congregation has a long standing relationship to this annual Bergen
County event.  Our founding minister Rev. Lee Reid was a member and
activist on the MLK Birthday Observance Committee and, in her honor, the
committee presents the Annual Rev. Lee Reid Award  for "Outstanding Service
in Bringing People of Diverse Cultures Together."  UUCP is one of the many
local organizations and faith communities co-sponsoring the event. and we
are one of the few organizations that are directly represented  by member
of the Committee.
