[UUCP] Holiday Message to UUCP

Dear members and friends of UUCP,

As the historic and fateful year 2020 comes to a close, our attention has
focused on this holiday season of giving. There is so much need and pain
among so many it is hard to know how to best respond most effectively.
We do the best we can even though we know we cannot help all. Among those
that move me in a special way are the NJ Food Bank, Planned Parenthood,
Doctors Without Borders and The United Farm Workers. Others have their own
special choices.

There is also a step further that can help make changes to *eliminate*
causes of pain, hunger, racism, injustices. By supporting movements and
organizations that work for change and transformation of unjust societal
systems and practices we can help millions. We can work to end the
continuous generation and regeneration of systemic injustices.
*Our Congregation is one of the 21 NJ UU Congregations that sponsor such an
organization - UU Fauith Actio of New Jersey.   *
UUFaithActionNJ works year round to support, advocate and aggressively
lobby to transform the laws and practices of New Jersey to reflect a more
just, people friendly, antiracist society. UUFaithActionNJ works
effectively through 5 Task Forces -
- Criminal Justice
- Environmental Justice
- Gun Violence
 - Immigration Reform
- Reproductive Justice
Task Forces meet regularly (virtually) and you are welcome to attend,
listen and participate.
