[UUCP] Email Servers

The original list (and the one we are now using pretty much all the time) is the list that operates when you send to uucp at uuserver.org <mailto:uucp at uuserver.org>  (it’s moderated at http://uuserver.org/mailman/admin/uucp_uuserver.org).

 

Over time, that list grew to include a number of people who are not members of the congregation. We then started a second list at membersandfriends at lists.uucpalisades.org <mailto:membersandfriends at lists.uucpalisades.org>  (it’s administered at http://lists.uucpalisades.org/mailman/admin/membersandfriends_lists.uucpalisades.org), which in theory is only members and active friends of the congregation.

 

Nobody maintains either list to any extent. AT present, the first list has 116 members, while the second list has 47. I don’t know that either list has all our current members, and I can’t characterize who else is on either list.

 

I did a pass over the membersandfriends list a while back, so it’s probably reasonably up to date. The main listserve (uucp at uuserver.org <mailto:uucp at uuserver.org> ) is a lot messier.

 

We also have a “men’s list” (uucpmen-owner at uuserver.org <mailto:uucpmen-owner at uuserver.org> ) that hasn’t been active in quite a while, and a “spiritual list” (uucpspiritual-owner at uuserver.org <mailto:uucpspiritual-owner at uuserver.org> ) – ditto.

Hi Michael,

 

I wanted to know the difference between the UUCP members and friends list and the UUCP server list. Are all of the UUCP members on both lists? Please explain the difference.
