Our UUCP Service Auction debuts on April 23 and it promises to be our
biggest fundraiser of the year!

Please let us know what you’ll be offering. You might want to teach a
skill, host a dinner, game night, pool party, or picnic, lead a hike or a
museum trip, or….wherever your imagination takes you!

*What to donate to the “Virtual” Service Auction*

Everyone has something of value to donate to the Auction. Just use your
imagination and

have some fun. Offer something alone or with someone else in the
congregation. Auction

items can be a great way to make connections with others in the
congregation. Here’s a list

of ideas that include items we have offered at our past service auctions or
some that we

found online.

• Dinner in your home:

§  Whatever you love to cook/eat; Italian dinner, Southern cuisine, Asian
fare,

                              Vegetarian/vegan meal, etc.

• “High” tea

• Backyard barbeque

• Soup, bread, and salad

• Dinner and book discussion or other conversation.

• Dinner and a movie

• Party in your home

• Game night! Are there particular games you love to play?

§  (Scrabble, Poker, Charades, BunkoO etc). Offer with dessert or
wine/cheese or a meal.

• Drum Circle

• Karaoke Night

• Murder mystery dinner party!

• Recreation or tours:

§  Explore New York City: Be inventive – there’s so much to do; visits to

museums, dim sum in Chinatown, boat rides (old and new ferries). Plan

walking tours of neighborhoods and Historic sites, and other outdoor trips

• Local trips to museums, public gardens, interesting cemeteries

• Private docent for museum visit.

• Kayak or canoe trip

• Hikes to near and far

• Meals to Order - (To be ordered when needed by bidder).

§  Is there a dish you love to cook? Offer it: In the past we’ve had:
Spanakopita

                              (Greek spinach pie, Coq au Vin, Pork Stew,
Soups)

• Desserts to Order

§  You decide how many you’d like to make. (To be ordered when needed by

                   bidder). (Examples: Chocolate decadence cake, Double
chocolate orange tort,

                              Flan, Dozen cupcakes, Fruit tarts)

• Workshops/Instructions

• How to make truffles, Baking stuffed breads, Tasty vegetarian dishes,
Memoir

writing workshop, Art workshops

• Miscellaneous items

• Unique artistic items such as: paintings, stained glass, photographs.

• Tickets to a show/play/sporting event.

• Personal services

§  4 hours of computer or cell phone instruction.

§  Facebook or blogging instruction

§  Computer maintenance and consultation

§  4 hours of landscape maintenance

§  10 hours of house painting

§  Weekend of childcare

§  Dog or cat sitting or walking

§  Window washing

§  Odd jobs around the home Massage session

§  Music lessons

• Donate *MONEY* instead of bidding on items
