Hello everyone,
*Who were Faustus Sozzini, Michael Servetus, and John Sigismund? Why is
Transylvania important to Unitarians? (No, it has nothing to do with
Dracula.) Who were Origen and John Murray and what do they have to do with
Universalism? Just what are “unitarianism” and “universalism” and what is
“Unitarian Universalism?” Unitarian Universalism has a long history and a
theological foundation stretching as far back as the pre-Christian era. As
UU’s it’s important to have at least a basic knowledge and understanding of
just what that history and theology is.*
*On Thursday, April 15th, I will begin leading a brief course in Unitarian
Universalist History. The course will take place over 8 to 10 sessions and
will take place every other Thursday evening, beginning at 7:30 p.m. The
sessions will be informal and will allow for a discussion and question
period. *
*In order to make the question and answer sessions flow smoothly, we will
utilize the “Raise Hand” button found on the bottom of the Zoom screen in
the “Reactions” tab. Just click on the “Reactions” tab, click “Raise Hand”
and you will be recognized in order. *
*I’m looking forward to sharing these sessions with you and will send a
further announcement and information prior to April 15th.*
*Peace and Light,*
*Rev. Paul*

*The freedom to doubt, to question, to be content to live in Mystery is
central to the liberal religious tradition. Like the process of evolution
itself, the path that we follow, our practice if you will, is not easy or
simple. It isn’t without its dead ends or its disappointments. It doesn’t
guarantee that all of our conclusions will be final or that we will ever
find an answer to all of our questions. But also like the process of
evolution, it is filled with great expressions of beauty and awe that are
sometimes born of great struggle and at other times come as unexpected
Grace. *
