Please join us tomorrow for our UUCP Conscious Conversation with Rev. Sonia

Topic: Discussion of the Documentary Film “13th”

Date: Thursday, July 29

Time: 7:00 PM

Ava DuVernay’s documentary film is titled after the 13th Amendment to the
US Constitution, adopted in 1865, which abolished slavery & involuntary
servitude throughout the United States except as a punishment for crime. In
this thought-provoking documentary scholars, activist, and politicians
analyze the criminalization of African Americans and the US prison Boom.

For Rev. Sonia, this was one of the most educational and impactful
documentaries she has seen.

Join us for this Conscious Conversation as we dive deep into the content
and emotional impact of this extraordinary documentary. This event is open
to the public, so please feel free to invite friends.

*Please watch the film prior to our meeting Thursday.*
