Hi everyone, Over the years, I've mentioned how moved I always have been by
the images from the Hubble Space telescope. I still am, and now, with the
first images that NASA just released from the new James Webb space
telescope, which is far more powerful than Hubble, I’m more than blown
away! We are now going to be able to see farther into deep space than we
have ever been able to do, almost to the big bang. It's beyond
comprehension. It’s more than awe-inspiring. It puts me into a place and
attitude of deep reverence and humility. I’m reminded of the words Moses
heard when he came upon the burning bush:
“Take off your sandals. You are standing on holy ground.” The only
difference is that we are peering into holy space. And we are compelled to
acknowledge our place in a multiverse far bigger and deeper than we ever
dreamed.

*"God is not a Christian. God is not a Jew or a Muslim or a HIndu or a
Buddhist. All of those are human systems which human systems have created
to help us walk into the mystery of god. I honor my tradition, I walk
through my tradition, but I don't think my tradition defines god, it only
points me to god**…**You and I are not fallen people. We are emerging
people.**”** ~~~ John Shelby Spong*
