[UUCP] Walking This Next Chapter Together

Dear Congregants,

Many of you have already read Rev. Sonia’s recent letter, in which she shared her decision and reflections with characteristic openness and care. We wanted to write to you as well, to walk alongside you in this moment and to offer reassurance about the path ahead.

As Rev. Sonia shared, she will be concluding her ministry with our congregation on June 30, 2026, as she steps into the next chapter of her life journey. We join her in holding deep gratitude for the many ways she has nurtured our spiritual life together. We are also glad to know that she plans to continue leading Tuesday morning meditations at 8am, allowing that meaningful connection to remain part of our shared rhythm.

Looking ahead, Rev. Pippa will continue to lead two services each month, providing continuity and familiarity as we move through this transition. The Board is approaching this time with care and intention, thoughtfully exploring options for how best to support the ongoing spiritual life and leadership of our congregation. We will also continue to meet at The Bristal, grounding us in the community and routines we value. 

After Rev. Sonia’s service this Sunday, January 18, we invite you to join Rev. Sonia and us, so that we can be together in conversation. This will be a time to listen, reflect, ask questions, and share hopes as we move forward as a community. We look forward to hearing your thoughts and to continuing this journey together.

 We want you to know that the  Board will have our bi-annual Retreat on January 21, and the transition will be one of our major topics.

On Thursday, January 29, 7pm, we will have a conversation about this transition with the congregation, so that we can be together on Zoom to talk once again. We invite the entire congregation to attend. 

As Rev. Sonia reminded us, change is a natural part of life and growth. We move forward with trust in our shared values, confidence in the strength of this congregation, and gratitude for the connections that bind us.
